The Neo Child Initiative
Country: Nigeria
The Neo Child Initiative for Africa formerly known as The Nigerian Child Initiative is a non profit driven by a group of vibrant young people with an unflinching desire to transform the lives of Nigerian children through initiatives centered around Child Health Promotion and Education For Sustainable Development. The team promotes awareness of children about Sustainable Development Goals ; provides essential healthcare and health education within the reach of children in less privileged communities.
Since 2015, when the initiative was launched, healthcare has been brought within reach of at least 10,000 children in schools and communities through Medical outreach programs, community and school health advocacy campaigns and initiatives.
The organisation has also educated 1000 children and teenagers directly on the Sustainable Development Goals and up to 2000 indirectly across various schools through school competitions, training workshops and mentorship programs. Currently there are 100 students under active SDG mentorship.
From a volunteer base of less than 10 people in 2015, there are now 500 active volunteers across Nigeria eager to contribute their time, skills and passion to make an impact in children’s lives by becoming the best version of themselves.
