Professor Yoro TINE is a pharmacist and lecturer-researcher in organic chemistry at the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry of Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD). A passionate researcher and dedicated educator, he stands out through an exemplary career marked by scientific rigor, pedagogical innovation, and strong academic leadership. As an active member of several national and international scientific societies, he consistently contributes to advancing pharmaceutical research, therapeutic innovation, and academic excellence, in service of scientific development in Africa and beyond.
With a dual background in academia and regulation, Professor TINE has headed the Clinical Trials Service at the Senegalese Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (ARP) since 2022. Under his leadership, this service has played a central role in strengthening the national system for the regulation of clinical trials, contributing to the ARP’s achievement of Maturity Level 3 (ML3) in 2024, as assessed by the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Benchmarking Tool (GBT).
A recognized specialist in biological products, biosimilars, vaccines, medicinal plants, and medical devices, Professor TINE is actively involved in numerous African initiatives aimed at building regulatory capacity.
