Olalekan Ezekiel OJO, a 1997 medical graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife, Nigeria, is professionally a clinician, researcher and teacher. He is a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College (Faculty of Internal Medicine). He is a member of many other professional and Academic bodies including Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) and a recipient of various awards from several Associations and Professional Bodies.
He has worked in several hospitals and in various capacities. He was a House Officer at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Ilesa, a Medical Officer at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo. He was also a Resident Doctor at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile-Ife (OAUTHC) and serves as Consultant Physician/Nephrologist at Federal Medical Center, Owo, Ondo State.
Dr Ojo has written and published several scientific articles in many local and international peer-reviewed academic journals in the field of Medicine; and has attended several courses and seminars within and outside Nigeria. Dr Ojo has held several leadership and administrative positions academically and professionally. He was the Head Department of Medicine, Federal Medical Center, Owo where he successfully midwifed the repositioning of the nephrology unit and the department of Medicine for improved quality service delivery. He is the Principal investigator the Nigerian Center for Genetics Research on studies on Non Communicable Disease at the FMC, Owo. He is the Co investigator for the hospital-based arm of the study. Dr Ojo is happily married and has children.
