The Medicines and Related Products Act 2014, established the Medicines Control Agency (MCA) with the mandate to control the manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, use and advertisements of medicines and related products with respect to ensuring their quality, safety, and efficacy. Related products includes herbal medicines, cosmetics, medical devices and household chemicals.
To achieve the highest possible standards of quality, safety and efficacy for medicines and related products including, herbal medicines, cosmetics, household chemical substances and medical devices in The Gambia in safeguarding public health through an efficient and fully functional Agency.
