Dr. Nneka Onyepeju
Senior Research Fellow, NIMR
Nneka Onyejepu (PhD) is a Senior Research Fellow with the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (www.nimr.gov.ng) Lagos. She is a Fellow of the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) and was awarded the EDCTP-TDR Clinical Research and Development Fellowship in 2019.
The Fellowship offered her the platform for increased competencies and to assume leading roles in clinical research within the African continent. Nneka had her training at the Global Drug Unit of Novartis Pharma AG Basel, Switzerland. She has returned to Nigeria where she is focused on providing training, mentorship and leadership support for agile clinical research ecosystem and data analytics.
Nneka worked closely with intra- and extra- Research Associates in setting up a Clinical Trial Management Unit that offer shared resources, training and mentorship support to study teams as well as manage clinical research projects. Nneka is also committed to enhancing and strengthening partnerships with pharma industries and research organizations in Sub-Saharan African for the conduct of clinical research in line with global standards. Her research endeavors seek to develop strategies for an adaptive resilient health system by integrating clinical research and data science approach especially at the community level.
