Impact Africa Summit 2021: The Biggest Pharmaceutical Research & Development and Clinical Trials Summit in Africa

The Impact Africa Summit on Pharmaceutical Research and Development & Clinical Trials (IAS Pharma) 2022 was one of the most high-level conferences on Pharmaceutical R&D and Clinical trials in Africa, fostering dialogue and exchange between the public and private sectors in a conference to accelerate driving equity in clinical trials with a diversity-first mindset in the clinical development ecosystem.

    ias2021

Learning about the newest industry trends, and meeting Clinical Research Heroes:

Conferences: The IAS conference and panel discussions was driven by thought leaders and experts across the globe – United States, Europe, and Africa who highlighted the best practices for participants involvement during research designs, recruiting, and trial execution. Discussions also included bridging the gap to promote health equity in Sub-Saharan Africa and leveraging inclusion to affect evidence-based medicine in Africa.

Symposiums and Workshops: Led by industry leaders who offered thoughts on advancing research frontiers via inclusivity. Examining how the clinical research sector now addresses diversity and inclusion proves we have a baseline understanding on which to build and make the required changes for future development. To address the imbalance in representation of diverse groups, facilitators from research, regulatory, advocacy, and therapeutics provided an in-depth analysis of the Sub-Saharan framework for conducting trials and how leveraging the appealing diverse population paves the way for patient-centered interventions.

Gala Night: While opportunities abound to learn, network, and celebrate with researchers and leaders in the pharmaceutical industry to maximize impact, the IASPharma Gala night was an essential forum to celebrate cutting-edge and state-of-the-art innovation in clinical research. Attendees had an opportunity to share the stage with leaders who have ensured disruptive but efficient and sustainable innovative solutions to address the gaps in healthcare across Africa.
