Dr. Eleanor Libson
Senior Medical Director, Clinical Science, GBT (PFIZER)
Dr. Lisbon has worked in pharmaceutical clinical drug development for over 16 years from Phase 1 to Phase 3 and in multiple therapeutic areas. Eleanor has work exclusively in Sickle Cell Disease for over 6 years and currently leads the clinical development of GBT021601 at Global Blood Therapeutics (GBT). Beginning in 2006, she learned core principles of clinical research in a large, CRO (preclinical, Phase 1, Phase 2/3) at IQVIA. She then applied her learnings in established large and small companies: IQVIA, Imara and Global Blood Therapeutics.
Eleanor has product and clinical development experience in hematology, oncology, first-in-human trials, high-risk biologics and monoclonal antibodies. Additionally, she has a depth of experience in drug development strategy, study design, protocol development, conduct, oversight, analysis, interpretation and presentation of data. Prior to her industry work she worked as an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center and as a staff physician at Carondelet Family Medical Care/St. Joseph Medical Center.
She completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she also received her Master of Public Health. She received both her Bachelor of Science and her Doctor of Medicine from Howard University (HU) and the Howard University College of Medicine (HUCM), in Washington, DC. Eleanor is married to Dr. David Lisbon and is the proud mother of 3 adult children.
