    Dr Echezona Ezeanolue, MD, Phd

    Echezona Ezeanolue, MD, MPH is Professor of Pediatrics and Public Health at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas

    Echezona Ezeanolue, MD, MPH is a clinician-scientist whose research focuses on implementation science to enhance effectiveness and quality of health services. He is MPI for the Accelerating Cervical Cancer Elimination through the integration of Screen-and-treat Services in Nigeria (U01CA275118). Board certified in Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Ezeanolue served as the Director of the HRSA funded Nevada Comprehensive Maternal-Child HIV program in Las Vegas (H12HA24832) before returning to Nigeria. He has broad experience in program implementation, program evaluation, clinical trials and effectiveness research.

    He has served as PI or Co-investigator on >25 funded projects in the United States and Nigeria. Baby Shower Trial (R01HD075050; recruited 6,000 women across 40 sites); iSTAR Trial (R01HD089871; recruited 10,000 women across 80 sites); the Point-of-Delivery Prenatal Test Results through mHealth to Improve Birth Outcome (R21TW010252; implemented across 25 sites); and sickle cell research networks (U01HL156942; across 24 sites in Nigeria). Dr. Ezeanolue is professor of pediatrics, epidemiology and infectious diseases at the University of Nigeria where he leads the UNN Center for Translation and Implementation Research (CTAIR) and the Nigeria Implementation Science Alliance (NISA), the PEPFAR supported implementation consortium that supports the 21 NISA-Model Innovation and Research Centers sites across the six regions of Nigeria.

    Dr Ezeanolue is Vice-President, HealthySunrise Foundation, USA and served in several national committees in the United States including the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (20015-2019); American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Pediatric AIDS (2015-2019); NIH study section (2015-2018) and Patient Centered Outcome Research Institute (2012-2015). He has been recognized as Nevada Public Health Leader of the Year (2007), Nevada Health Care Hero (2008), Outstanding Research Mentor (2009) and AAP Local Hero (2010) for his contributions to public health5
