Dr. Bamidele Mutiu is an alumnus of University of Ibadan and a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Pathology (Medical Microbiology). He is a Senior Lecturer in Lagos State University College of Medicine and a Consultant Medical Microbiologist to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. He is a Consultant Clinical Microbiologist with expertise and training in Outbreak Response to Public Health Emergency of International Concern, Biorisk Management, Biosecurity, Shipment of dangerous goods and Infection Prevention and Control. He served as a lead Physician at the Ebola Treatment Center, Mainland Hospital Yaba during the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria in 2014.
He is member of Society for Quality Healthcare in Nigeria, Nigerian Biological Safety Association, Infection Control Society of Nigeria,Clinical Microbiogist Society of Nigeria and College of Nigerian Pathologists. He is a certified professional in Biorisk Management & Biosecurity by International Federation of Biosafety Association (IFBA) and Shipment of Dangerous goods by International Air Transport Association (IATA). Currently, Bamidele Mutiu is the Director of Lagos State Biobank; the Laboratory responsible for the diagnosis of COVID-19 in Lagos State, Nigeria.
