Dr Adeola Olukosi
Deputy Director of Research, NIMR
Dr Adeola Olukosi is a Molecular Biologist with interests in the molecular epidemiology of drug-resistant malaria. I am a member of the Malaria Research Group and Neglected Tropical Diseases Research Group at the Nigerian Institute for Medical Research. I have participated in facilitating Global funded training for malaria health care workers as well as several malaria-related health applications. I have had consultation contracts with the World Bank, UK DFID funded projects, and other non-governmental Support for the National Malaria Elimination Program and sit on some of the technical support committees to NMEP.
At the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research where I work, I have acquired administrative experiences having served as a member of various standing committees of the Institute including, the Institutional Ethics Review Board and Central Organizing Committee of the NIMR Annual Scientific Conference and been the Head of Biochemistry and Nutrition Department. I have conducted several malaria research fieldwork activities to find samples for our laboratory basic research as evidenced by my publication. I have taught Molecular biology, Physiology of parasites and medical Biochemistry at the University of Lagos and EKO University of Medical Sciences. I serve as an external examiner in several schools internationally.
