Prof Fatiu Arogundade

Professor Fatiu Arogundade is the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences Abeokuta and President Elect of African Association of Nephrology. He was the immediate past College Registrar of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) and Past President of Transplant Association of Nigeria, Past President of Nigeria Association of Nephrology, Past member of Executive committee and Council of In-ternational Society of Nephrology (ISN) and Past Chair of the African Regional Board.
He was past Secretary and President of Nigerian Association of Nephrology; Secre-tary/Treasurer, African Association of Nephrology. He was Chairman/Chief Examiner of the Faculty of Internal Medicine, and member of Governing Board of NPMCN (2018-2021).
His research interests are in general nephrology and renal replacement therapies. He stud-ied the aetiopathogenesis, epidemiology, survival and quality of life in Chronic Kidney Dis-ease (CKD) including Sickle Cell Disease and the Kidney. His research interests are in defin-ing the roles of MYH9 and APOL 1 gene polymorphisms in kidney disease. He has 125 publi-cations in peer-reviewed journals including 7 chapters in books (Citations-5142, h-index-31, i10-index-61). He has supervised 32 fellowship and 3 MSc dissertations/Theses.
