The Impact Africa Summit (IAS Pharma) Award is an annual recognition of healthcare experts for their outstanding impact in reforming Africa’s healthcare system. Last year’s edition received about 100 nominations across categories carried out by reputable individuals and organizations in the healthcare sector. This year, we hope to recognize more stakeholders who have made impact in the healthcare sector.
By these awards we, as an institution, wish to accord recipients the well deserving honour, status, and appreciation due their accomplishments. The health sector, as a field, is a major player in any country and place and people who give themselves to community health improvements deserve all good accolades for their feat – the World need to always know about this.

Category 01: Health Innovation Excellence Awards 2023
This Award recognizes the greatest impact during the calendar 2023 year, using evidence-based medicine; leading to an advancement in healthcare. This might include the first demonstration of a clear clinical effect for a new drug/ procedure/ device in an area of unmet medical need, a pivotal study of a new drug / procedure/ device with a breakthrough mechanism of action, or a major study of a potential new or expanded indication for an already marketed product.
Category 02: Healthcare Technology Excellence Awards 2023
This award recognizes the forward-thinking in health, wellness, life sciences, and solution that leveraged technology to achieve innovative excellence and industry disruption.
Category 03: Clinical & Research Excellence Awards 2023
This award recognizes significant contributions made in advancing a new therapy through one or more clinical phases in reaching its goals, while paying attention to adopted effective working practices, and achieved major milestones within expected timelines.
Category 04: Pharmaceutical Excellence Awards 2023
The Pharmaceutical Excellence Award celebrates the greatest achievements and innovations in the pharmaceutical industry in recognition to driving change in research and development of pharmaceutical and biological products, drugs and diagnostics towards improving health and wellbeing.
Category 05: Pharmacy Excellence Awards 2023
This award is designed to acknowledge pharmacy group who have impacted their communities significantly, based on public healthcare delivery, community development activities, and healthcare technological innovation, through various platforms, likewise showing exemplary ethical practice setting, mentorship, chain practice setting and notable contribution to the objectives of the society.
Category 06: Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2023
This award recognizes excellence demonstrated in manufacturing and business operations. The primary focus of the award is to acknowledge continuous improvement, best practices, creativity and innovation in manufacturing.
Category 07: Healthcare Provider Excellence Awards 2023
This Award is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate projects that are making a real and lasting difference to our health and social services. This includes any service provided directly to the public including, but not limited to; clinical services, primary care, social/family support, support services (to include catering, pottering, security, clerical), management services (to include people management, processes, information technology or service management initiatives.)
Category 08: Health Media/Journalism Excellence Awards 2023
Sub-category 01: Excellence in Health influence on Social Media
This award recognizes the positive influence of social media information, communication and reviews on healthcare and how it shapes the views of its audience and incites them to look towards innovative and better ways of connecting with healthcare physicians
Sub-category 02: Excellence in Health Promotion Journalism
This award recognizes noteworthy and credible journalism on healthcare, informing stakeholders and relevant audience on pharmaceutical development and research, recent technologies, and novel strategies regionally and internationally.
Sub-category 03: TV Station/program recognized for Healthcare Promotion
This award recognizes TV stations whose significant contributions towards mass media campaigns on health, wellness and advancement in new healthcare practices has produced positive changes, prevented negative health-related behaviors across large populations and impacted on the eradication or prevention of a deadly disease.
Category 09: Medical & Research Laboratory Excellence Awards 2023
This award recognizes pivotal laboratory roles played in translating scientific and technological breakthroughs into medical cures. This includes, but not limited to, research to investigate biological, chemical, or pharmacological phenomena like mechanistic studies to assess carcinogenic risk of specific chemicals, mechanism of disease pathogenesis, interaction of immune function and drug metabolism, study of emerging pathogens, and toxicity profile identification.
